Typeface Design
For this assignment, we were tasked to create our own typeface advertisement design. For this assignment, I decided to create a typeface called, Funky Fresh. Funky Fresh is a fun, decorative typeface. My end goal was to make a typeface that was fun, groovy, squiggly, and unique.
Brainstorm & Sketches
To brainstorm for this assignment, I chose a category selection for the type I wanted to use. I decided to choose sans serif and I looked at San serif fonts on Adobe Fonts to get inspiration for my typeface. I found fonts that there fun and unique in their design.
Based on the inspiration of the fonts I found online, I used some of those elements to create my typeface. From the elements, I drew sketches of what my typeface could look like. I also drew sketches of what the advertisement for the typeface could look like.
Final Hand-Rendered Draft
This is a final hand-rendered draft of my typeface, Funky Fresh, that I later brought on screen and made refinements on the letters based on the feedback. I created the wavy background and shapes using the pencil tool in Illustrator.
